On Monday 23rd September, Fred Boss (@FBoss) kindly allowed me to take over #edchatie for a Twitter chat to mark Gifted Education Awareness Week 2013. #edchatie is a weekly chat on issues of interest to teachers and other educators. You can view past #edchatie chats here. #edchatie attracts a wide range of teachers in Ireland – primary, secondary and from all subjects areas.
The chat topic was ‘Challenging Gifted Children in the mixed-ability classroom’. It was a fast paced and lively chat. The level of engagement from other teachers showed very clearly an interest in learning more about Giftedness and Gifted children. There is clearly a need and a desire to learn more. The icing on the cake was the chat trending on Twitter.
